Key voting info for the 2026 election

/

Hello voters!

In my continuing efforts to help more people to vote, here is some key voter information. For official and additional information see the City of Victoria website.

  • Election day is October 17, but you can vote in advance (Oct. 7, 13, 14, 15) or vote by mail.
  • Even if you’re going to be in town, advance or mail voting ensures nothing gets in the way of voting, and frees up your time on election day — so you can volunteer to help get more people to the polls! 🙂
  • Registering to vote. You can register in advance, or when you vote (you’ll need ID)
  • Accessibility – there are many accessible voting options on the City website.

To vote you must:

  • be a resident of the City of Victoria
  • be a resident of British Columbia for at least six months before the day of registration
  • be 18 years of age or older
  • be a Canadian Citizen
  • not be disqualified by law from voting.

The above is only an unofficial guide. The updated and official information is at the City of Victoria website.
